Tate’s School is thrilled to announce the outstanding success of two of its students at the recent Midsouth Region US Pony Club Regional Quiz Rally in Lexington, Kentucky. Third-grader Cameron Bengston (9), and sixth-grader Hannah Yau (11), along with teammate and homeschooler Audrina McCall (9) secured an impressive second-place team finish at the event held on March 2, 2024. In addition to their second-place finish as a team, Cameron was awarded a second-place individual finish in a division of 38 competitors, McCall achieved an impressive 10th place, and Yau qualified for the U.S. Pony Club National Championship (held for ages 10 and up) in the summer of 2024 at the Kentucky Horse Park.
The Midsouth Region US Pony Club Regional Quiz Rally, known for testing horsemanship skills and promoting sportsmanship, featured five interactive phases: Classroom, Stations, Mega Room, Barn, and Written Test. Teams, including Tate’s School’s triumphant trio, competed in various challenges against students up to the age of 12, showcasing their dedication and preparation in written tests, panel questions, team competitions, a barn phase with horses, and hands-on stations and games.
Tate’s School recognizes the pivotal role of the United States Pony Club (USPC) in shaping the experiences of its equestrian students. The USPC, a prestigious organization dedicated to promoting excellence in riding, horse care, and sportsmanship among young equestrians, provides a structured educational framework. Through events like the Midsouth Region US Pony Club Regional Quiz Rally, students benefit from showcasing their skills while embracing the values instilled by the USPC, contributing to their personal growth and character development.
