The Violins of Hope project has brought a collection of restored violins, once played by Jewish musicians during the Holocaust, to Knoxville. Silent for decades, the instruments are now being used to teach students about history and resilience.
Recently, Tate’s School hosted the violins, giving students a hands-on way to connect with the stories of Holocaust victims and survivors, promoting lessons of tolerance and remembrance.
The violins are also on display at the Digital Motif building on South Gay Street, and the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra is preparing to feature them in concerts honoring those impacted by the Holocaust.
Through music, this project preserves memory and promotes healing in the community. ... See MoreSee Less
