Thank you for your interest in Tate’s School. Our goal is to challenge, inspire, educate, and enrich our students. We are excited about the opportunities we can offer your child and family. All applications and supporting documents are submitted online through the FACTS Student Information System. Here is how it works:

STEP 1. COMPLETE ONLINE APPLICATION

Create a school account by choosing a username and password to access the online application. A non-refundable fee of $200 must be submitted with each application. Applications are accepted throughout the year. Please complete a new student application for each child.

STEP 2. SUBMIT SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

Preschool & Kindergarten Requirements

  • Evaluations (school/teacher assessments)
  • Completed Teacher Recommendation Form

Grades 1st – 8th Requirements

  • Report Cards (last two years)
  • Completed Teacher Recommendation Form
  • School Records (copies of all educational assessments & standardized tests)
  • Evaluations (if applicable, including psychological assessments)

STEP 3. STUDENT VISIT & ASSESSMENT

The admissions team will contact you to schedule your child’s visit and assessment after you submit your online application. Incoming three-year-old children typically attend a play day and all other applicants schedule a Shadow Day to experience student life at Tate’s School (including lunch with new friends). Each student is tested for academic readiness for their grade level and a $200 assessment fee is due at the time of assessment.

 STEP 4. ASSESSMENT FAMILY MEETING

Following the student assessment and review of required documents, the admissions team will schedule a meeting with Tate’s administration to review assessment results and make recommendations.

STEP 5. ACCEPTANCE

The admissions team will offer contracts beginning in February. Selections will be based on overall development, emotional maturity, academics, age, class size, and boy to girl ratios.

STEP 6. ENROLLMENT

Parents are extended a contract offer. Your child is enrolled when your contract is submitted and a $400 enrollment fee is processed. Due to the current admissions environment, we encourage you to respond to a contract offer the same day if possible. If your application is selected for admission and no openings exist, then your child’s file will be placed on the Waiting List. As openings occur, your file will be reviewed for placement.
